Academic advisors are members of the faculty who support students as they transition to college; connect students to appropriate campus resources; assist students in the exploration of interests, skills, strengths, and career options; guide students towards the appropriate selection of curricular and co-curricular activities based on their personal and professional goals; encourage good citizenship and academic integrity; help students develop a growth mindset and provide support when they experience failure; and help students advocate for themselves as well as understand that their success is a direct result of their effort.

Meeting with academic advisors
Each student will need to meet with their academic advisor at least once per term. At the end of the meeting, academic advisors will distribute a unique registration PIN, which is necessary for course . Midterm grades for each advisee are made available to the academic advisor, which provides an opportunity to discuss any challenges the student may be experiencing.
Changing advisors
A student who wishes to be assigned a different academic advisor should consult the Department Head. A student who changes majors will be assigned a new advisor. See .
